Riding Lessons
From first experiences with a pony to individual lessons for more experienced riders, our instructors adapt their teaching to each rider, their abilities and personal goals.
Located at Solutions Farm, Club Hípico Calpe is a social club where animals, people and community come together – and where life gets to slow down for a little while.
At the heart of our non-profit club are our animals and their wellbeing. The farm is home to 14 horses and ponies, our mule, as well as a dog, a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig, cats, chickens and rabbits. They are all part of everyday life here and make this place what it is.
Horse owners can find a home for their horse or pony with us and become part of our community. But you certainly don't need to own a horse to belong here. Our club is for anyone who loves animals, enjoys spending time around them and is looking for a little balance away from the rush of everyday life and our increasingly digital world.
We want to create a place where real connections have space to grow – spending time outdoors, caring for and simply being around animals, sharing experiences, slowing down and sometimes just switching off for a while.
Throughout the year, the Club hosts a variety of events and activities centred around our animals and community. In addition, a range of independent programmes and experiences for children, teenagers, adults and families are available here at Solutions Farm.
Club Hípico Calpe is more than a place for horses.
It's a place to arrive, breathe and belong.
Every Club event and programme directly supports the animals in our care. The income generated by Club activities is reinvested into their daily needs, from feed and care to maintaining and improving their living spaces and purchasing new equipment.
By joining a Club activity, you're not only enjoying time at the farm. You're helping us care for the animals who make it such a special place.
Our riding experiences are about more than simply learning how to ride. We focus on the connection between horse and rider, developing confidence, balance and communication while building solid riding skills.
From first experiences with a pony to individual lessons for more experienced riders, our instructors adapt their teaching to each rider, their abilities and personal goals.
Supportive sessions that strengthen confidence, balance and communication through a calm, attentive partnership between horse and rider.
Take your riding beyond the arena with guided hacks into the local countryside around Solutions Farm, from relaxed rides to more active experiences for confident riders.
Riding lessons, therapeutic riding and guided hacks at Solutions Farm are offered independently from Club Hípico Calpe.
With our riding lesson donation programme you can give children in special life situations time together with our horses.
You can buy an extra riding lesson for our donation programme, or donate an already paid lesson if you cancelled your appointment at least 24 hours in advance and do not wish to reschedule.
Donated lessons are given, in cooperation with a social organisation in Spain, to children for whom this experience can be a special opportunity and a valuable one.
You may not be able to ride today – but perhaps another child can.
Gift a riding lessonEvery journey starts with getting to know each other. Meet our horses, discover their different personalities and begin building trust and connection.

Take your riding beyond the arena. Our guided hacks follow quiet woodland paths nearby, with routes and pace adapted to the riders and horses taking part.
Riding is about much more than progressing through levels. Build confidence, develop new skills, take responsibility and become part of a community where people and animals learn and grow together.

A rustic farm family of horses, ponies, a mule, and the animals who share everyday life with us at Solutions Farm.
Dakota is an incredibly gentle and experienced horse with a calm and considerate nature. He pays close attention to the people around him and seems to follow his rider every step of the way, both in and out of the saddle.
With his patience, reliability and wonderful charm, Dakota is particularly well suited to our therapeutic riding sessions. He gives people the time and confidence they need, making him a very special partner to work with.
Olivia is our little all-rounder and the perfect size for young riders. Her proportions allow children to learn how to give their riding aids in the right place, while her calm and trustworthy nature gives them the confidence to learn at their own pace.
Patient and gentle, Olivia happily lets children practise everything that comes with caring for and preparing a pony, from grooming and picking out hooves to bridling and saddling.
But don't let her patience fool you! Olivia has plenty of energy and absolutely loves to go fast. Give her the chance to pick up the pace and you'll discover a very different side of this wonderful little pony.
Chanel is our most experienced mare and has been supporting riders of all ages for many years. And she certainly hasn't lost her enthusiasm. She still approaches her work with plenty of energy and motivation and is always ready to join in the fun.
Reliable and experienced doesn't mean boring, though. Chanel has a mind of her own and enough personality to keep her riders engaged, making her a wonderful horse to learn and grow with.
And the quickest way to Chanel's heart? A carrot. Give her one and she might just be the happiest horse in the world.
Spirit found her way to us after having several different owners throughout her life. This has made her a quick learner who pays close attention and always tries to understand what is being asked of her.
She is still learning together with her riders, discovering how to adapt to different people and how horse and rider can work together to make each lesson a positive experience. This makes her a wonderful horse for learning that good riding is always a partnership, and that both sides are part of the process.
Having raised foals of her own, Spirit also knows exactly how to stand her ground within the herd. She is confident, knows what she wants and is quite happy to take the lead when the opportunity arises.
Negra is our young black Shetland pony and one of the newest members of the farm. Before coming to us, she lived alongside goats and donkeys and raised two foals of her own.
She has already found her place in her new herd and is now slowly getting used to life around people. Negra is gentle, curious and learning a little more every day, especially when there might be a treat involved!
If it were up to her, however, she would probably spend the entire day eating.
Zira is the tallest of our programme horses and wonderfully comfortable to ride. She is incredibly sensitive to her rider in the best possible way, responding to even the smallest changes in body movement and allowing for very gentle and subtle communication.
She is ridden bitless and is calm, reliable and confident when riding out, making her a wonderful companion beyond the arena as well.
But Zira also has a sporty side: she absolutely loves to jump! With her gentle nature, sensitivity and willingness to listen, she makes riding feel like a true conversation between horse and rider.
Spirit is our handsome little working pony and a true all-rounder. Whether helping with activities, carrying our youngest riders or heading out on an adventure, he is happy to be part of almost anything.
He is incredibly affectionate, gentle and always ready for a cuddle, but his favourite place to be is out and about exploring beyond the arena.
With his lovely nature, versatility and perfect size, Spirit is a very special favourite among our youngest riders.
Nespresso is our lovable little mule and the unofficial mascot of the farm. His journey brought him through the countryside of southern Spain before he eventually found his way to us, and we couldn't imagine farm life without him anymore.
He loves people, enjoys the company of all our animals and is always ready for a little adventure. Young children can enjoy their very first riding experiences with him, but Nespresso is just as happy carrying a basket and blanket for a picnic in the woods.
Most of all, he loves going for walks, exploring the surroundings and simply being part of whatever is happening around the farm. With his friendly and curious personality, Nespresso is usually right in the middle of it all.
Jota is our Vietnamese pot-bellied pig and one of the senior residents of the farm. Despite his age, he is still happy, healthy and fit, which we like to think has something to do with his very healthy diet! His meals consist of fresh fruit and vegetables, with a little rice, pasta or potatoes.
Jota loves being scratched behind his ears, and during the hot Spanish summers, you'll often find him cooling off in his little pool.
Felix, our black and white cat, takes his job as guardian of the farm very seriously, keeping a watchful eye on any visiting cats, although a few selected guests have earned permission to stay.
With people, however, Felix is a completely different character. He is incredibly affectionate, and the more cuddles and attention he gets, the happier he is.
Mia and Ew, our two rescued tabby farm cats, are much more cautious. They are still very shy, and getting close enough to stroke them can feel like a little achievement.
But there is one thing that makes all three forget their differences: treats. The moment snacks appear, Felix, Mia and Ew are equally quick to show up!
Yuki and Munchy are our two soft and gentle rabbits who live in their own spacious enclosure. Right next to them is a cosy area with a sofa and a table, a perfect place to sit down, slow down and spend some quiet time in their company.
They happily accept lettuce, dandelion or fresh grass from your hand, although they can sometimes be a little shy. With a little patience and calm, you can earn their trust and enjoy being close to these wonderfully soft and fluffy little characters.
Our chickens are still young, but they already provide us with fresh eggs every day. They are friendly, curious and very used to people. They happily eat from your hand, enjoy being stroked and can even be gently picked up and held.
They also love joining the horses at feeding time, always hoping to find a tasty bite for themselves. Busy exploring, scratching and following the action around them, they bring plenty of life and a true farmyard feeling to Solutions Farm.
